How co-op works
Local or online survivors cross the same randomized 2D stages while difficulty rises continuously with time. Each character gathers a separate stack of items and drones; the group divides chests, covers platforming routes and enemy waves, then activates each teleporter and defeats its boss together.
About this game
Risk of Rain throws you onto a hostile alien world where survival depends on quick reflexes and smart positioning. This side-scrolling roguelike features permanent death, meaning every run is a fresh start against randomly spawning enemies and bosses. You can brave the chaos solo or team up with up to three friends in online co-op, where coordination becomes the difference between triumph and disaster.

Each run revolves around platforming through procedurally generated levels, collecting items that stack into wild power combinations, and managing the escalating difficulty timer that makes every second count. The thrill comes from piecing together synergies with your team, calling out enemy positions, and deciding when to rush the teleporter before the screen fills with threats.
Risk of Rain supports online co-op for up to four players, plus local split-screen and single-screen play for couch sessions. The run-based structure and rising tension create high-stakes moments where one player's mistake can end the entire team's progress, fostering communication-heavy teamwork and plenty of chaotic, memorable wipes.
