How co-op works

Two local players guide one character in each half of a split screen. By merging and separating the views, they join level geometry, cross screen boundaries, and create platforms or passages for one another; every solution depends on aligning both perspectives.

About this game

DYO is a puzzle platformer built around a split screen that players can actually jump through. One or two people work together to navigate each level, with every challenge designed around moving between the left and right halves of the screen. What looks like a dead end on one side might open up when you leap across the divide.

The platforming is precise and the puzzles demand constant communication. You will coordinate jumps, share platforms, and figure out which side of the screen holds the solution to each obstacle. The screen-hopping mechanic turns every level into a spatial riddle that only works when both halves are used in sync.

DYO supports local couch co-op and split-screen play, and also works with Steam Remote Play Together for online sessions. The game includes a level editor and Steam Workshop support, so the puzzle library keeps growing. Every run rewards tight teamwork and creative thinking.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play DYO solo or do I need a second player?

You can play DYO solo by controlling both halves of the split screen yourself, or team up with a second player locally. It also supports Steam Remote Play Together if you want to play online with a friend.

How does the screen-hopping mechanic actually work?

The game presents a split screen showing two halves of each level. You can physically jump through the dividing line to move between the left and right sides. This lets you bypass obstacles on one side by switching to the other, turning every puzzle into a challenge about when and where to cross over.

Is DYO more about platforming skill or puzzle solving?

It's a mix of both. The platforming requires precision, but the core challenge is figuring out the puzzle logic-deciding which side of the screen to use and coordinating your movements. Expect plenty of communication and spatial problem-solving alongside the jumps.

Does DYO have custom levels or just the main campaign?

DYO includes a level editor and Steam Workshop support, so you can create your own puzzles and play community-made levels. This extends the game well beyond the base campaign.
