How co-op works

Online co-op for up to four cult members performing a map-specific banishment. Players search randomized locations for key ritual items, deliver and process them before the possessed enemy becomes too fast, use UV light against spawned fiends, and coordinate movement as danger escalates.

About this game

DEVOUR throws you and up to three friends into a race against demonic possession. Each scenario asks your team to complete increasingly difficult rituals while a possessed cultist hunts you down. This is true co-op horror where survival depends on teamwork under pressure, not just dodging jump scares.

You'll gather ritual items, activate altars, and lure the possessed away from teammates as the atmosphere spirals into chaos. The enemy grows stronger and faster the closer you get to completing your objective, forcing quick decisions and constant communication. Panic sets in when someone goes down and the rest of the team has to decide whether to revive or finish the mission.

DEVOUR supports online co-op for one to four players on Windows and Mac, with optional VR support for an even more immersive scare. Sessions last around twenty minutes but the escalating difficulty and need for split-second coordination make every attempt feel like a frantic sprint where one mistake can doom the entire group.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I play DEVOUR solo or do I need other players?

You can play DEVOUR solo or with up to three other players online. The game scales for 1-4 players, though the horror experience becomes much more intense and coordinated when playing with a full team since you'll need to split tasks and rescue each other.

How long does a typical session take?

Each session lasts around twenty minutes. You're racing against time to complete rituals before the possessed cultist becomes too powerful, so matches are designed to be frantic, focused sprints rather than long drawn-out campaigns.

Does the game get harder as we progress?

Yes, the possessed enemy actively gets stronger and faster the closer you get to completing your objective. This escalating difficulty means the final moments of each session are the most dangerous, forcing your team to communicate constantly and make quick decisions under extreme pressure.

Is VR required to play DEVOUR?

No, VR is optional. DEVOUR fully supports standard play on Windows and Mac with keyboard/mouse or controller. VR support is available if you want a more immersive horror experience, but it's not required.
